When you ask a question
The contact form collects your name, email address and message. I use these to answer your enquiry and arrange teaching if you choose to go ahead. This is to take steps at your request before entering into a contract. It doesn't sign you up to marketing.
The form saves your message in private Vercel storage, where only I can access it through my management area. I reply from my Gmail inbox. You can also email me directly. Please don't send passwords, payment details, health information or private documents through the form.
When you join the writing group waitlist
The waitlist form collects your name, email, country and an optional description of your book. It also records when you agreed to be contacted. I keep these details so I can contact you about the group and a suitable date. Joining is free and doesn't commit you to a paid place. You can leave the list at any time by emailing me. It doesn't sign you up to a newsletter or other marketing.
Who handles your information
Vercel hosts this website and may process connection details and security logs. Vercel stores enquiries, waitlist entries and private guide master files. Google provides my email inbox. I can access enquiries from Dubai. These services may process information outside the UK or European Economic Area. Their safeguards and practices are explained in their own privacy notices.
When you book a chat
TidyCal handles bookings. It collects your name, email address, chosen time and any answers you give to booking questions. I use these to arrange and attend your chat. Booking details may also be added to my connected calendar.
The embedded calendar loads only when you choose to show it. You can also open TidyCal directly using a booking link. TidyCal may use cookies and process connection details under its own Privacy Policy.
When you buy a guide
Lemon Squeezy handles guide checkout, payments, receipts and customer downloads. Its Privacy Policy explains how it handles your order information. Payment details are not stored on this website.
Cookies and visit counts
The site also remembers your motion preference if you choose to pause the image effects. This stays on your device.
The private management area uses a secure sign-in cookie that lasts up to 12 hours. Public visitors do not need an account. Form abuse controls use short-lived signed form tokens and a hashed connection identifier.
This site saves your privacy choice in your browser for up to 180 days. This is needed to remember what you chose. It uses local storage, rather than a cookie.
Vercel Web Analytics loads only if you choose "Allow analytics". It counts visits using information such as the page, broad location, device and browser. It doesn't use advertising cookies or track you across sites. We remove query strings and page anchors before sending page addresses. We don't send form contents to analytics.
You can refuse analytics and still use the site. You can withdraw your choice at any time.
How long information is kept
I aim to delete enquiries that don't lead to teaching within 12 months of our last exchange. If you become a client, I keep the information needed to provide your sessions and meet record-keeping duties. Service providers may keep their own security logs and backups under their policies.
Your choices and rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your personal information. Depending on the law that applies, you may also have rights to restrict processing, object to it or receive a copy in a portable form. Email me using the address above. I'll respond within the time required by the applicable law.
If you're concerned about how your information is handled, you can contact your local data protection authority. In the UK, that's the Information Commissioner's Office. In the EU, you can contact the authority in your country.
Your teaching sessions
You own and control your Claude account. I never ask for your passwords and never take control of your computer. You decide what to share during a video call. Claude and your video service have their own privacy terms.
